webley rebel reviewwell its been a while since i reviewed a gun so I'll get started on this one.
the rebel is essentially a sharp innova copy made from sadly more synthetics than the original however i'm reviewing this rifle on its own merits as i think this is only fair!
i bought the 10ft.lb. .177 version.
STOCK/PUMP ARM.
nothing to report here other than both feel very solid but the dimpling can feel a bit uncomfy especially on the pump handle...score 8/10.
TRIGGER.
again plastic but its wide and feels comfortable, there is some creep in the movement but for the price tag i have fired guns with worse triggers than this one...score 7/10.
SIGHTS.
sadly i have to come down on these...they are day glo sights, the rearsight feels very fragile and wobbly. these are just token sights but they do their job....score 3/10.
EASE OF USE.
being a multi pump the more you pump, the harder it gets but it shoots ok with 2 pumps.
POWER AND ACCURACY.
the accuracy i feel is let down by the woeful open sights so a scope or diopters should help and the barrel is covered by a plastic shroud.
power is shown in the following velocities using H/N finale match 8gr.
2 pumps 475fps.
3....568fps
4....602fps
5....608fps
6....619fps
7....623fps
8....623fps
9....622fps
10..621fps.
it seems like anymore than 6 pumps is a waste of effort.
MY THOUGHTS.
i'm not a modern webley fan but i'd say for the £110-120 price tag, this is a good bargain...score 7/10

Nice review interesting to see there's very little difference with pumps 6+ in fps. Now I just have to find a local stockist.

Good review. I'd like to see the rested accuracy at say 10 or 20m with the best pellet.

Nice review.
In an old old AGW I came across an article where a Sharp Innova had been converted into a cheap target rifle: stock adjustment, diopter sight, etc, to good effect.
How do you think this would do for a cheap 6 yard bell target rifle, with a decent set of open sights?
Kind regards,
Phil

Well a hw77 rearsight wont fit so gamo diopters is the best bet and nick is the man to ask.

ive heard and read a few stories about peope buying the 10 and ending up with the 7
you should be shooting around the 750fps to acheive 10ftlb
use link below to input your findings
8gr 623fps equals 6.9ftlb

Don't need to...I know the formula off by heart and its quite easy to up the power levels if I need to.

Right chaps, there are 2 versions, the 7.5 JOULE (ie 6 ft lb) or the 10 ft lb! It is not 7.5 ft lb, it is 7.5 joule! So they are over powered or underpowered.
I know, I have one.

And where is 7.5ft.lbs. mentioned other than in your reply?
Got rid of the bloody thing I bought!

They are neither under or over powered. The UK limit for rifles is 12 ftlbs, so both versions are deemed to comply.
Choice of power in rifles, around 6 ftlbs or, alternatively, 10ftlbs + is being offered in many rifles now, particularly with the rise in popularity of bell target shooting.
The buyer decides what they want it for and chooses the appropriate energy output.
This is slightly odd with a MSP, though, as energy output can be controlled by the number of charging strokes.
Still, I am sure they have their reasons.
Kind regards,
Phil

The guy who has it now has it at 11ft.lbs and has sorted out the pellet shaving breech issue.
I'm happy as he swapped me a lovely bsa 240 magnum .22 and he is happy with the deal too.

Glad it all worked out well in the end.

Seeing as they are only available in .177 at the moment, the speeds quoted make about 7.5 foot pound, so it is either over the 7.5 joule or under the 10 ft lb!

We were visiting family in Helston yesterday.
So I convinced the wife we needed to nip into the gun shop and have a look around.
I think I have more pistols than they have in the entire shop but that didn't stop me buying something else, so I picked up one of these by squeezing it onto my groaning credit card
I like the idea its possible to vary the power, so ideal for indoors shooting

Interestingly enough, I have just been onto the official Webley & Scott website, and there is no mention of the Rebel!
